Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility 

The PS / Technical Consultant role requires a highly motivated individual who is confident and comfortable with rapid changes in direction and environment, taking ownership of the tasks assigned. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining BigFix solutions across enterprise environments, ensuring the seamless integration of BigFix with other management and security tools. You will work closely with system administrators, security teams, and other technical teams to manage endpoints, automate processes, and enhance overall system efficiency. 

 

Key functions include: 

Design, deploy, and configure BigFix solutions to manage and monitor a complex Point of Sale (POS). 

Ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security policies. 

Integrate BigFix with other enterprise management systems. 

Work closely with system administrators, infrastructure teams and integration to automate software deployment, patch management, and system updates using BigFix. 

Develop and manage custom BigFix content (tasks, actions, Fixlets) to address specific operational and security requirements. 

Create and maintain BigFix dashboards and reports to monitor endpoint compliance, performance, and security posture. 

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BigFix deployment, content, and integration with other systems. 

Collaborate with security teams to ensure timely patching and remediation of vulnerabilities across all endpoints. 

Provide technical guidance and support for BigFix-related issues and initiatives. 

Maintain system documentation for BigFix implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures. 

Monitor and optimize BigFix performance to ensure efficient resource utilization and reliable operations. 

Develop and maintain automation scripts and custom actions to enhance the capabilities of BigFix. 

Assist with the migration and upgrades of BigFix infrastructure and related systems. 

Stay up to date with the latest BigFix updates, features, and best practices to ensure the system remains efficient and effective. 

Perform ad-hoc reporting of POS environment. 

Work with project management and technical teams to coordinate and schedule deployments and configuration changes.  

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications  

5+ years of proven experience as a BigFix Administrator, Integrator, or in a similar role with expertise in BigFix deployment, management, and integration. 

Strong knowledge of endpoint management, patch management, and automation practices. 

Experience with BigFix console, deployment, and agent management. 

Proficient in scripting languages for automation tasks. 

Familiarity with network security concepts, compliance frameworks, and vulnerability management. 

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly with regard to BigFix performance and integration. 

Knowledge of server administration, including Windows and Linux environments. 

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

Experience with JIRA. 

US Citizenship required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

BigFix certification. 

Experience with automation tools. 

Ability to get Public Trust security clearance. 

Experience with large retail solutions.
