Infrastructure Data Cable Engineer Details
Essential Job Duties:
+ Install and maintain well-functioning, reliable computer networks, connections, and cabling
+ Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
+ Pull, route, or label, Fiber Optic and CAT6, CAT6a cable in new or existing buildings
+ Understand data cabling, low voltage electrical, analog and IP based video cabling.
+ Experience working with copper and fiber single-mode/multi-mode cable: rough-in; labeling; terminations; and, testing.
+ Experience with copper patch panel: dress-in; terminations; labeling; and, testing.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose voice and data lines.
+ Install support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, and other related structures.
+ Installation of security camera, wireless access points, TVs, and other devices connected to the system.
+ Provide assistance to the technical support team.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Maintaining documentation of work performed and constant updates.
+ Install and/or removal of equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and company best practices.
+ Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment; secure work area each day to eliminate potential hazards.
+ Maintain accountability and readiness of all tools and equipment.
+ Keep company van clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
+ Ability to work in sterile environments with use of containment carts and HEPA filters
Job requirements
+ Familiarity with hand and power tools for installation purposes
+ Able to work at tall heights.
+ Able to lift 50+lbs unassisted to load and unload various products
+ Excellent ability to communicate with coworkers
+ Proven ability to work well in teams
+ Demonstrated ability to work with many different departments within the organization.
+ Climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, and stand to perform daily work and ladder climbing, as needed.
+ Previous construction experience is preferred but not required.
+ Mentor Junior level low voltage engineers
Qualifications:
+ Active BICSI 2 level certificate
+ Active BICIS fiber certificate
+ 15 years industry experience
+ 6 years Healthcare industry experience.
+ PC Proficiency, Microsoft office applications
+ Flexibility to work after hours when needed.
+ RCDD Preferred
