The Virtual Computing Platform (VCP) is a critical platform that will future-proof ASML’s ability to support customer’s growing data demands, as well as deliver improved insights that drive more predictable performance. VCP runs on customer-owned hardware that brings together all data from ASML scanner and metrology equipment, enabling latest ASML applications and enhancing transparency and collaboration. It is a fab-critical system, as it could take down a customer's entire fab production if it failed.   Would you like to improve the process of testing novel software that helps make Moore's Law possible? Job Mission

  You will be working in the VCP team, where your primary responsibilities will include establishing KPIs and dashboards in our Alert and Health Monitoring system (AHM). This system is based on the Splunk platform, requires you to improve monitoring various service event logs and metrics, such as CPU and memory usage, as well as the overall health of applications. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in improving the tools used for installing the VCP, ensuring they are both efficient and reliable. Your work will also be involved in assisting the testing of software and deployment processes, helping to maintain the robustness and quality of our systems.

  As a VCP monitoring and automated intern you will join one of our multinational Scrum teams to perform adjustment and improvement on software products. We are committed to follow the Agile way of working, with sprints every two weeks, aiming for frequent releases of working software. In all teams we cooperate with internal and external experts from different knowledge domains to discover and build the best solutions possible. We move fast to help our customers reach their goals, and we strive to create reliable and well-tested software, as a failure in our software stack can severely impact customers' operations.

Role and responsibilities

•Participate in software testing, adjusting and improving deployment process.

•Establish KPIs and dashboards in the AHM (application built on the Splunk platform).

•Contribute improvement ideas in software process.

Education and experience

Education

  A relevant Bachelor or Master student in software engineering, computer science, information systems, IT or other related subject with emphasis on software development

Experience

•At least one hands-on experience on the Python or Bash script

•Knowledgeable about Red Hat 7+ Linux and infrastructure installation and upgrading automation

•Experience on Ansible is a plus

•Experience on Splunk, SQL or No-SQL query languages is a plus

•You have good communications (downward, upward, and sideways), people interaction and teamwork skills.

•You are open-minded, you like to discuss about technical challenges and you want to push the boundaries of technology.

•You have good reading and writing skills in English and can organize report structurally.

•You are an innovator and you constantly seek to improve your knowledge and your work.

•You are patient and careful and can judge whether the results of data monitoring are as expected.

Other information: at least 3 working days per week and 1 year duration
