Job Description: Infrastructure Engineer Consultant

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer Consultant to lead critical infrastructure initiatives, including ERP implementation, Azure environment security, and hybrid cloud management. The ideal candidate will assess the current infrastructure, provide strategic guidance, and implement improvements to support evolving business needs. This role requires expertise in Microsoft Azure, hybrid environments, and infrastructure optimization, as well as the ability to collaborate across teams and take ownership of projects. This would be a 3-6 month contract, requiring 2-3 days on-site every 2-3 weeks in Green Bay, WI.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate the current IT infrastructure and recommend improvements. Support ERP implementation by designing and managing infrastructure components. Enhance Azure environment security, aligning with best practices. Optimize hybrid cloud solutions, including on-premises and Azure services. Review and adjust enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business needs. Connect services and streamline networking deployments. Assist with domain changes, divestiture projects, and new plant rollouts. Implement and document monitoring, automation, and provisioning strategies. Provide technical guidance to teams lacking Azure expertise.

Top Skills Needed:

Microsoft Azure Expertise: Strong understanding of Azure services, including infrastructure design and security. Hybrid Cloud Management: Experience managing hybrid environments with Azure and on-premises resources. Infrastructure Security: Proficiency in securing cloud environments, IAM, and implementing robust policies. Networking and Connectivity: Knowledge of networking setups, deployments, and troubleshooting. Enterprise Application Optimization: Ability to assess and optimize enterprise applications. Collaboration and Leadership: Skilled in leading projects, communicating with stakeholders, and guiding teams. DevOps Exposure: Basic understanding of DevOps practices and tools. Documentation and Compliance: Strong documentation skills and experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, SOC1). Scripting Proficiency: Hands-on experience with PowerShell or similar tools. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Familiarity with DR planning and execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Microsoft Azure or related specialty. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 4+ years in an engineering role, with experience leading projects. Exposure to ITIL frameworks and vendor management.
