KEY OBJECTIVE(S)
The role is to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of communication, computer, and IT systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing hardware, software, and infrastructure. This role is also responsible for data center and other electronic infrastructure.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualized environment (in-house and cloud), Wi-Fi, DAS, Security, access control, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
+ Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain wired and wireless infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure resource administration and appropriate use.
+ Provides “ownership” of problem through final resolution.
+ Develop and maintain a customer support/help desk, as necessary.
+ Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization.
+ Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
+ Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
+ Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
+ Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
+ Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.
+ Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
+ Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.
+ Oversee the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD.
+ Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:
+ Job holders may be called upon to provide support for service issues or failures at any time.
+ Perform other duties as assigned
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree in computer science with three to five years of experience in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Microsoft certification is desirable.
+ Backup and restoration experience - CommVault software experience a plus
+ Must have a proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, and with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
+ Must have a proven ability to make decisions within the scope of the position and to maintain continuous communication with management.
+ Capacity to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and have the ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
