Infrastructure Engineer

DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Develop AI and Machine learning solutions, and leverage rapid prototyping and agile methodologies to bring solutions to market. Drive workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies. Architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize technology processes. Execute creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting. Consider upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications and advise on mitigation actions. Produce operational and development expertise in building proactive monitoring. Contribute to auto heal and recovery during system failures. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and report on application and system health, uptime, performance improvements, change and capacity management of the services supported. Collaborate with development team throughout the software development life cycle to help build software for reliability. Identify and analyze patterns of incidents, conduct post-mortems, develop permanent remediation plans, and implement automation to prevent future incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information systems, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Devops Research Assistant or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information systems, or related field of study plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Devops Research Assistant or related occupation. The employer will accept pre- or post- Bachelor's degree experience..
Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: at least one of the following cloud platforms: AWS, Cloud Foundry, or Kubernetes for deploying and scaling AI/ML solutions; leveraging SQL and Python for data preprocessing techniques including data cleaning, normalization, and augmentation. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: leveraging at least one of the following log aggregation tools: Splunk, data dog, cloud stream, or ELK stack. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: statistical analysis and probability theory to implement both supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods; generating technical documentation with troubleshooting guides, product overviews, usage guides, and management reporting; and implementing best-practice security practices, through integration of at least 1 of the following Active Directory Federated Services solutions: OIDC, SAML, or x509. Experience in the skills may be gained through pre- or post-Bachelor's degree experience.
