Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized civil and environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking all experience levels of infrastructure engineers. Carollo’s infrastructure engineers specialize in challenging projects outside of the treatment plant, including: the planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations, trenchless pipelines, pipeline seismic retrofits, deep wastewater pump stations, river intakes, and many other diverse projects.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (vary dependent upon hiring level):

 

Engineer-in-Training:

Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projectsPerform data entry and analysisPerform system modeling and hydraulic calculations to size and select facilitiesPrepare cost estimatesPerform permitting and alternatives analysisPrepare technical memoranda, reports, plans and specifications, and other deliverablesPerform engineering services during construction, including reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract documents contractor requests for informationParticipate in field activities, such as site visits, overseeing field work, and pilot testingTravel may be required depending on the project assignment but most projects are local.

 

Professional Engineer through Senior Engineer additional responsibilities could include:

Registration as a Professional EngineerExperience delivering and managing water/wastewater infrastructure projects with partial responsibility for budget, schedule, contract obligations, and quality standardsAbility to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraintsAssist with coordinating sub-consultant workMay serve as project manager on small to medium sized projects and would assume all project manager responsibilities.Assist project manager with the planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing of the work of the project team, including: environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers; drafters, technicians; technical experts; and subconsultantsAssist project manager with meeting budget, schedule, and quality goalsPerform data analysis, system modeling, and hydraulic calculations to size and select facilitiesContribute to a culture of effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholdersDevelop and maintain relationships with clients, especially at the staff levelAssist with proposal preparation, including development of scopes of work and engineering fee estimatesProvide on-the-job training and mentoring of project staff and entry level engineers Qualifications

Qualifications (vary dependent upon hiring level):

Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field. Masters degree in engineering is preferred.Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California and/or Hawaii or EIT Certification or passed FE examAbility to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problemsActive in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conferencesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with clients and project teamsWork well in a team environmentHighly motivated and self-startingProficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience (vary dependent upon hiring level):

Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Masters in engineering is preferred.Engineer-in-Training: 0-4 years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction of water/wastewater infrastructure projectsProfessional Engineer: 4-8 years of experienceMid-level Engineer: 6-12 years of experienceSenior level Engineer: 12+ years of experience Pay Range

$60,000 to $190,000 annually. Range varies dependent upon hiring level. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
