Infrastructure Engineer II
The Infrastructure Engineer II of Endpoint Engineering is a self-motivated and ambitions individual responsible for the build, implementation, monitoring, support, and maintenance of Windows computers and customer high end specialized workstations. Maintains technical currency and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet hospital needs. Presents information to management that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and enterprise management solutions. They will also provide tier 3 support and guidance on the deployment, configuration, and operation of Windows endpoints based on best-practice processes, disciplines, and related toolsets. Responsible for implementing the automated and functional aspects of endpoint technology infrastructure including upgrades, customizations, and system integrations. Collaborates with others inside and outside of the department to support the delivery of reliable, performant, and maintainable technology services to the institution. Job Responsibilities: Contribute to infrastructure/network projects/operations and other internal/external solutions and services within own area. Provide customer service around infrastructure/network in line with defined service level commitments. Co-ordinate installation, configuration and support for new and existing network/infrastructure. Monitor availability of existing organizational network/infrastructure and associated systems. Provide capacity planning and performance analysis aligned with business demand. Manage responses to security incidents to ensure timely resolution. Create capacity planning and utilization reports for own area. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, business or related field of study required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum requirement: Two (2) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments. Some experience in infrastructure design, systems analysis, and security management. Some experience working with business stakeholders to identify and document requirements. Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role. Preferred Skills: Administrative experience with Microsoft Configuration Manger (ConfigMan/SCCM), Intune, Entra ID, and Autopilot. Administrative experience with ConfigMan patch management, WUfB and Autopatch. Creating and editing PowerShell scripts for automation (endpoint configuration/remediation, application deployment, API integration). Understanding of Active Directory and GPO management. Laptop and Desktop hardware evaluation and review. Capture endpoint data and logs to improve processes and infrastructure design. Create technical documentation for internal use and customer facing knowledge articles. Collaborate with fellow engineers and other IS personnel on training, projects, and remediations. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
