As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking Team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities
Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully metDrives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completionCarries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parametersEscalates issues to appropriate leadersPartners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statusesDevelops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implicationsAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceMust be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with 7+ years of residency in the U.S.Proficient knowledge of hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessmentsKnowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (Python, Go, or Shell)Familiarity with security protocols and products, including Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuthKnowledge of DevOps/Systems AdministrationExperience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds Basic technical knowledge of additional technical domainsBasic data fluency and automation knowledge
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
AWS/Microsoft/Redhat Certifications preferredProficient knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
