Infrastructure Security Engineer

Job Summary: As an Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the security posture of our IT infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and enhancing server operating system and hardware firmware patching processes, implementing and maintaining robust server and server hardware configuration management, automating configuration tasks, and handling vulnerability management remediation. You will work closely with various teams to ensure our systems are secure, compliant, and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities:

Patching: Managing and enhancing patch management processes to ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches. This includes scheduling, testing, and deploying patches across various platforms.Configuration Management: Managing and enhancing the server and server hardware configuration management process, ensuring that all systems are configured according to industry best practices and security standards. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations and changes.Configuration Management Automation: Automate server configuration management tasks using centralized tooling including DevOps Tools and Zoho Manage Engine. Develop scripts and playbooks to streamline and standardize configuration processes.Vulnerability Management: Work with IT Security team to address issues found on vulnerability assessments and scans identifying security weaknesses. Collaborate with relevant teams to remediate vulnerabilities and track the progress of remediation efforts.Security Compliance: Ensure server and server hardware configurations are in compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC. Participate in internal and external audits and assessments.Incident Response: Assist in the investigation and resolution of Infrastructure incidents. Provide expertise in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

Qualifications:

Ideally, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.5+ years of experience in infrastructure with a focus on server operating systems (Windows and Linux), server hardware configuration (Dell Compute and Storage), patching, server configuration management, and vulnerability remediation.Proficiency in scripting automation runbooks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript and Python.Strong understanding of infrastructure security best practices and industry standards.Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, VMware Certified Technical Associate and Security+Experience with IaaS on cloud platforms AWS and Azure
