POSITION SUMMARY:
The Infrastructure team at Milliman Global Corporate Services (GCS) is looking to hire an Infrastructure Services Network Engineer. This position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure working collaboratively with peers and team members to complete key initiatives and projects that improve the overall support, implementation, and integration of Milliman’s Infrastructure Technologies. The network engineer is a strong individual contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. The position also ensures that support requests, modifications, and changes to the environment are processed and managed efficiently to meet service levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and implement network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, servers). Ensure resilient and redundant network architecture, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues. Plan and execute maintenance and network expansion projects. Develop and enforce network policies and standards. Leverage monitoring tools to ensure healthy systems and infrastructure. Document network configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures. Provide tier 2 and tier 3 technical support and troubleshoot network problems. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business needs. Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions to improve team proficiency. Evaluate and select new network technologies and stay updated with emerging networking technologies and trends. Evaluate and tune network topology to support compliance standards. Partner with operational teams to define service levels, support materials, processes, and clear escalation guidelines. Provide excellent customer service and interact consistently with other teams to ensure support issues are addressed and escalated correctly. Enhance, build-out, and maintain a catalog of services offered by the team. Share information collaboratively and transparently across the team and other administrators across the firm. Track all work using a ticket-based system and provide metrics and input on optimizing services provided by the Infrastructure Team. Collaborate with management to plan and manage a budget. Apply IT practices including ITIL, ITSM, SDLC, or other standard industry methodologies.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate must have minimum five (5) years of experience in the IT field, with the last three (3) years of experience in network communications, and three (2) years of demonstrated project experience. The ideal candidate must have the proficiency in advanced routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS). The ideal candidate must have experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols. The ideal candidate must have previous experience planning, deploying, and troubleshooting WAN, firewalls, LAN, DNS, VLANs, static and dynamic IP addressing, remote and point to point VPNs in on premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate must have proficiency in cloud networking platforms (e.g., Azure/Google/AWS) and cloud network security best practices. Must have the ability to install networking equipment and work within data centers and networking closets. Must have working knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SANs). Must have familiarity with load balancing solutions and optimizing network traffic. Must have experience with network automation tools and scripting. Must have the self-Starter with the ability to prioritize, communicate, and effectively work through tasks, issues, and projects. Must have solid understanding and experience in network engineering, design, and implementation. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to document system infrastructure and changes to the architecture. Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Must have the ability to lead and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Must be willing to travel.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience with hypervisors and storage solutions. Proficiency in Netbox server management. Proficiency with Arista / Cisco devices and software. Knowledge of data center operations and maintenance, ideally with Equinix data centers. Experience managing network and infrastructure at a global scale. Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems. CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certifications.LOCATION:

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this role is $87,000 to $177,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
