Role Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Infrastructure Systems and Administration the Infrastructure System Engineer is responsible for executing maintenance and support of the Windows, Linux, VMWare, and Storage environment.  The Infrastructure System Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in almost every Information Technology project.  This position is responsible for configuration and processes following the approved technical architectural standards and processes.  He or she will be responsible for implementation and monitoring server- based security.  As a key member of the Information Technology this role will collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and peers to provide solutions that help mature and grow IT Operations for the enterprise.  

Responsibilities:

Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core datacenter technologies: All Active Directory services Storage (NAS / SAN / hyper-converged) Compute: Windows Server and Linux Virtualization DR / Backup Cloud platforms Perform project-based engineering, installation and troubleshooting of multi-vendor solutions Scripting and automation Responsible for adhering to server and system security policies Support end user collaboration tools, Slack, Google Workspace, and Zoom One Login and MFA management Provisioning and provisioning of users Producing Project Documentation for and assuring the team is developing: Functional Designs and best practices Testing and Migration Plan Documentation for ongoing support Final as-built documentation

Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field required. 5+ years’ experience as a Systems Engineer in a multi-vendor environment 5+ years of experience with VMware In-depth knowledge working in Google Workspace Experience with cloud AWS certifications a plus 5+ years Active Directory experience with Server 2016, 2019 Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.  Proven experience with storage platforms (NAS, SAN, hyper-converged) Experience with deploying and maintaining disaster recovery processes and procedures Familiar with public and internal DNS Experience with internal and external Certificate Authority  Experience implementing 802.1x server profiles and deployment with JAMF  Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python) Ability to work effectively with team members and contractors
