The Infrastructure Team Lead will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Infrastructure team while ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of our current IT infrastructure. The Infrastructure Team Lead will be a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of supervising and guiding teams to achieve operational excellence. This position will work closely with our Application Development team and IT Helpdesk to ensure we follow and fulfill enterprise and security architecture best practices and remediate single point of failure and vulnerability risk.
Responsibilities Documentation, installation, support, and maintenance of Transcat’s network, including (but not limited to): Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual), SQL servers, AWS environments, Active Directory, Azure, Firewalls, SAN’s, switches, and backupsTesting and maintenance of disaster recovery planSupport internal and Sarbanes-Oxley audit processesProviding leadership and direction to the Infrastructure teamAssigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery of projects and operational goalsSoftware deployments to Development, Staging, and/or Production environmentsHandle team conflicts, workload balancing, and prioritization of tasksOccasional travel to company sites QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to manage and develop staff (coaching and mentoring skills)3+ years working with AWS (Amazon Web Services)3+ years of experience with Systems administration of cloud and on-premise environmentsAbility to work independentlyStrong working knowledge of Linux and common open-source utilitiesStrong working knowledge of Windows Server installation, patching and maintenanceWorking knowledge of SQL server – MS SQL, MySQL, PostgresStrong written and verbal communications skills
Education and Experience
Degree in systems administration, networking or a related discipline3+ years related experience in the following:Microsoft 365 products, apps, services, and administrationWindows and Linux server environmentsDNS/DHCPAruba/Cisco switch configuration/maintenancePython, Bash, PowerShellVMware vSphere and ESXiVeeam B&RFirewall configuration/maintenanceExperience with containers (Docker, ECS/Fargate)
