Ingeniero Residente

Resident Engineering is responsible for maintaining or improving original quality, design, and performance of mature products.  Thru daily interaction with manufacturing and quality departments they remediate component quality related issues that could jeopardize production.  In addition, Resident Engineering is required to keep all technical documentation current, and Compliance records up to date.

Assignment location: Reynosa- DeWalt.

Provide on-site resident engineering support.

Conduct technical investigations and determine the need for design changes.

Recommend and qualify solutions to issues and provide engineering documentation as needed.

Approval authority for all proposed material substitutions.

Generate and lead specific projects in support of warranty, reliability, total cost and quality improvement objectives.

Participate in the disposition of deviant materials and components. Disposition First Piece Inspection discrepancies for mature products.

Drive manufacturing and supplier use of and adherence to REA process.

Lead the warranty reduction process.

Education and Experience:

BS or equivalent in engineering discipline.2 years’ experience in design of high-volume electromechanical system.4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Competences:

Well-rounded in engineering concepts, problem solving skills, and data analysis.A self-starting results-oriented individual who works well in a team environment and commits to tough decisions when required.Must be well organized, able to handle multiple projects and priorities and be adept at information gathering and technical decision-making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Knowledge of CATIA V5, Windchill, and SAP, preferred.Working knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs.Bilingual in Spanish and English (80%).
