The Tool Room Technician will perform mechanical tasks on injection molds and components. Including but not limited to: dis-assembly/assembly, mold cleaning, cavitation recovery, mold component inspection, in press changeovers, and performing preventative maintenance/repairs on the tool base.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the recovery of lost cavitation in a production environment. Dis-assembly of hot and cold runner injection molds in a safe and effective manner. Cleaning of mold components as part of a mold PM program. Inspection of mold components and effectively communicating the condition of the components for repair/replacement. Effectively communicating modifications needed to stock items as necessary. Replacement of worn/damaged mold components as needed. Updating/correcting mold history documents. Effectively communicating mold component and stock inventory levels. Assist in obtaining mold component and stock inventory replacement quotes and ordering. Daily department housekeeping. Assisting others when needed. Ensure tools are stored in an organized and safe manner. Delivery of equipment/tooling to various locations throughout the production facilities. Crane operation for moving and performing maintenance and in-press conversions. Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management. Team player capable of effectively communicating in technical terms. Exhibit excellent safety awareness and follow all safety policies and procedures. To be knowledgeable about company’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. \n High School diploma or equivalent, with special training in the tooling area. Manufacturing knowledge in molding industry. Strong mechanical aptitude, be familiar with various precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth and height gages. Eligible to work in the United States. Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen. Work overtime as required. Exhibit excellent attendance and ethics. Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
