Let's talk about the team and you:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Injection Molding Technician specializing in Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and Thermoplastics processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting injection molding machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will ensure efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety and operational protocols.

Let’s talk about Responsibilities:

Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate injection molding machines for both LSR and thermoplastic processes, including two-shot and overmolding applications. Install molds, configure process parameters, and ensure machines are running optimally. Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain product quality and minimize waste. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve processing issues, including mold, material, and machine-related problems. Perform root cause analysis for defects or equipment malfunctions, minimizing downtime. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cycle time reduction, and waste minimization. Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize molding processes for new and existing products. Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment. Coordinate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs and scheduled overhauls. Quality Control: Ensure molded parts meet all quality specifications and tolerances, performing inspections and measurements as needed. Work with Quality Assurance teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions. Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment. Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for LSR and thermoplastic processing. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of machine settings, process changes, maintenance activities, and production output. Prepare reports for management on production metrics, downtime, and quality issues.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in injection molding or plastics processing preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in injection molding with a focus on Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) and Thermoplastic processing. Hands-on experience with two-shot molding, overmolding, and automated molding cells is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong technical understanding of injection molding machines, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Familiarity with automated molding systems and auxiliary equipment (e.g., mold temperature controllers, material loaders). Knowledge of quality control techniques and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers). Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process optimization. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Certifications:

Certification in injection molding technologies (e.g., RJG, Paulson Training Programs) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and heat. Standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift is required.
