About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager of the Innovation Business Office, the Business Analyst is a key enabler for the Innovation team’s portfolio management, reporting dashboard, internal and external engagement, and business/ financial metric reporting processes. In collaboration with the Manager of the Business Office and the Innovation team members, the successful candidate will support the innovation stage gate governance process as well as developing and stewarding various business management processes. They will have the opportunity to identify and evaluate specific innovation opportunities in support of the strategy.
What you’ll do:
Assist the team with gate progression memo development, decision circulation, and database updates
Supervise and report on the full portfolio of Innovation Team activities.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain value-add Power BI dashboards
Steward Innovations monthly accruals reporting and forecast process and progression updates to projects
Independently perform exploratory data analysis and develop visualizations to highlight trends and patterns that support decision-making (excel, Power BI)
Identify, design, and implement process improvements through automation and data delivery optimization
Evaluate potential new innovation opportunities that come into Cenovus via internal or external paths
Assist team members with understanding and adoption of current SCM, Accounting, Finance, Corporate Planning, best practices and processes
Work with applications for government grants and funding
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Post secondary education in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering or related field with a keen interest in technology and innovation
Minimum of 4+ years of related experience
Strong data analytics, process development, and data visualization skills, specifically Power BI with strong finance and project management skills
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization, time management skills and the ability for working with ambiguity
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
