Overview GENERAL DESCRIPTION Plans and delivers professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and Cherokee Nation Health Services' mission, vision, and values. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of Associate’s degree in Nursing from a two-year college or technical school; no exceptions. No experience is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or possess a multistate RN license accepted by the OBN, no substitutions. Must maintain license throughout employment. Basic Life Support (BLS); must be obtained during orientation and maintained throughout employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 6 months of hire and maintain throughout employment. Depending on which inpatient department the employee is assigned, they may be required to obtain the following additional certificates, licenses, and registrations: Emergency Department Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – within 12 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – within 12 months of hire and maintained throughout employment. Triage Competency (Minimum of 1 year Emergency Department (ED) experience) before performing triage. RECOMMENDED: Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation and Dysrhythmia Course – within 6 months of hire and maintained annually. Intensive Care Unit Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation and Dysrhythmia Course – within 6 months of hire and maintained annually. Medical-Surgical Unit RECOMMENDED: Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation and Dysrhythmia Course – within 6 months of hire and maintained annually. Obstetrical Department Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – within the orientation period and maintained throughout employment. Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal Monitoring Class – within 12 months of hire OR proof of completion within the last two years and maintain throughout employment. RECOMMENDED: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support (STABLE). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. OTHER REQUIREMENTS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). May be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. Work Hours: Rotating shifts may be day or night.
