**Job Title: Inside Machinist - Navy Submarines and/or Depot Equipment Technician for Rail**
**Job Description**
The Inside Machinist is responsible for the precision machining of components for Navy submarines using both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. This role requires a high level of skill in operating various types of machinery, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards.

**Depot Equipment Technician**
Required Skills/ Knowledge:
+ Experience of electronic and/or electromechanical vehicle equipment maintenance.
+ Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
+ Knowledge of or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out tag-out protection.
+ Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers’ maintenance instructions, Operating Book of Rules, etc. and to comprehend the operations and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of MSF Equipment Systems.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate manual and CNC machines to fabricate, modify, and repair submarine components.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
+ Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for optimal performance.
+ Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
+ Maintain accurate records of machining operations and part specifications.
+ Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
+ Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
+ Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
+ Work with power, signal (copper and fiber), and RF cabling.
+ Handle cable tags, wire markers, and label plates.
+ Assemble cable kits, pin connectors, and terminate wires.
+ Conduct routine clean-up of the work site.
**Essential Skills**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred
+ Proven experience as a machinist with expertise in both manual and CNC machining
+ Strong understanding of machining principles, tools, and equipment
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
+ Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Good communication and problem-solving skills
+ Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a machining environment
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Apprenticeship, Associates Degree and two (2) years of experience, or trade school certificate and two (2) years of experience, or four (4) years of experience
+ Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
+ Experience with navy, submarine, fiber, and shipyard environments
+ Clearance: Secret

**Work Environment**
Work is performed in a shipyard or manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods. May require working in confined spaces or at heights. The position is based in a warehouse setting.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
