The RoleAre you outgoing with excellent conversational skills? We’re looking for an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to join our team. In this role, you’ll drive revenue growth through direct sales, account prospecting, and sales support. You’ll work closely with Customers requesting price quotes online for your assigned territory, under the guidance of the account manager. Additionally, you’ll seek new business opportunities through prospecting and cold calls within your territory. You’ll also assist the Account Manager and District Service Manager with quotes when needed to ensure Customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do 1. Provide quotes for all RFQ’s on standard equipment, service or consumables for the assigned territory(ies). Standard equipment is defined as small and medium sterilizers and Reliance 400/500 Glassware Washers with standard configurations. Service is defined as contract renewals and new service agreements. Provide follow up with prospective Customers to ensure close of sale. Quotes will be prepared for Customers consistent with all established Life Sciences guideline.
2. For standard equipment sales the ISR will ensure all aspects of the Customer’s application, layout, and delivery requirements are met by using the Non-Complex Project Scope Sheet and in consultation with the Account Manager.
3. Achieves booking and gross margin objectives according to Plan.
4. Probes to fully uncover and understand Customer needs, objectives and goals and effectively matches our products, services and technologies to assist in solving Customer issues
5. Establishes routine call patterns for contacting existing STERIS install base by telephone and other means to generate sales for all Life Sciences products and services. Also provides early notification of new products and process enhancements coming into the market.
6. The ISR will work with the Marketing, AM and/or Regional Manager to formulate hunt lists of established and potential Customers, to generate leads and ensure Customer satisfaction of previous projects. The ISR will initiate calls on a weekly basis.
7. The ISR will work with Marketing on new initiatives requiring follow up on e-mail campaigns.
8. Effectively communicates the strengths and competitive advantages of STERIS products, services and technologies and how the application of these can assist the Customer in meeting their objectives. Uses current available tools to provide a total solution to the Customer, to ensure their capital and consumable needs are met.
9. Anticipates and shares emerging trends affecting Life Sciences Customers with Sales and Marketing leaders to ensure that STERIS’s response is out in front of competitor’s responses.
10. Assures Pricing/Margin offerings to customers are consistently within the guidelines established.
11. Documents call reports in Customer Management/Sales Connection database. Accesses, updates, and maintains customer computer database and record keeping systems for individual accounts. May also require set-up and maintenance of manual files.
12. Consistently acts in a manner that meets or exceeds Customer expectations while considering the reasonableness of request and fairness to STERIS.
13. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships and communications with the field and corporate support departments such as Customer Operations, E-Businesses, Distribution, etc.
14. Prepares and provides daily, weekly, and monthly statistical information for reporting purposes utilizing various computer modules/programs to ensure appropriate and accurate documentation and data report occurs. Participate in special projects as assigned.
15. Serves as the Customer liaison within STERIS to resolve Customer issues or concerns that may be voiced during a sales call.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two to three years of inside or outside sales experience required. Customer experience in a Capital, Service or Consumables business preferred.
• Proven track record and demonstrated initiative in driving results
• Strong focus on servicing each customer, ensuring their expectations are met, providing solutions that meet their needs
• Ability to successfully build rapport with both internal and external Customers
• Solid work ethic, goal-driven, creative problem solver
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent computer skills
