Job Description

Position Description:  
 

The Inside Sales Representative person will generate volume growth and maximize margin in their assigned territory by providing industry leading customer service and order fulfillment excellence to establish superior, durable customer relationships.  
 
Primary Responsibilities:  

Collaborate with their outside sales representatives to achieve mutual sales and performance goals.  Proactively identify potential problems and advise customers with prepared solutions or suggestions.  Execute all internal aspects of customer service and order fulfillment flawlessly.  Determine competitive pricing and merchandise to get a premium where possible.  Immediately inform sales management of market changes, information, and pricing.  Coordinate with other departments to ensure that orders for products with special characteristics are ordered, confirmed, and manufactured properly without fail.  Manage customer inventory programs so that material levels do not become excessive, and material does not become obsolete.  Competently cover other territories when primary representative is not available.  Expedite prompt shipment of ready material.  Prospect territory by cold calling. Has primary responsibility for staying in touch with customers on a continuous basis.  

 

Physical & Work Requirements:

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:  

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience. Superior math skills. General communication skills. Very comfortable with computer-based activity. Action orientation. Customer orientation.  Detailed orientation. Ability to function effectively in an environment with constantly changing priorities and significant time pressure. 

 

Preferred Background, Competencies & Expertise:  

Proven steel industry experience. Proven inside sales experience. Creativity. Instills trust. Drive for results.
