Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled futurist and research analyst to join our global innovation team. This role is designed for a visionary thinker, strong researcher, and compelling writer who can distill complex technological and market trends into actionable insights for C-level executives, innovation leaders, and customers.
This role will be responsible for conducting in-depth market analysis, technology forecasting, and future-forward scenario planning to explore and help define the future of enterprise business transformation for ServiceNow customers. They will work closely with our Innovation Office Leadership Team and our team of innovation officers to create analyze trends, develop future-forward scenarios, and develop compelling thought leadership content, publish focused research reports, and deliver presentations to customers, executives, and stakeholders worldwide.
This person must be future-forward and an expert on current and emerging technologies, and experienced in speaking to an audience of technology leaders and C-Suites and their ecosystem of advisors.
Responsibilities
· Research & Analysis:
o Conduct in-depth research on AI-first business transformation and other emerging technology trends impacting enterprises (e.g., automation, agentic AI, spatial computing, edge computing, Web3).
o Understand and explore future frameworks for building the enterprise of the future that connects front office and back-office and front-office through workflows, data, and supporting systems.
o Develop future scenarios, strategic foresight models, and technology roadmaps to guide business leaders in key industries including financial services, automotive, retail, technology/media, manufacturing, and hospitality.
o Interview customers, executives, and industry experts to gain real-world insights into enterprise challenges and transformation strategies.
o Collaborate with innovation leadership to guide the research and editorial calendar.
· Publishing & Thought Leadership:
o Contribute to and execute a future-focused editorial calendar aligned with innovation leadership priorities.
o Author topical forecasting reports, executive briefings, and articles on technology trends, effective business transformation strategies, and future scenarios.
o Create content that is accessible and actionable to account teams, executive decision-makers and influencers in consumable media formats.
· Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Present research findings, forecasts, and scenarios to internal teams and customers.
o Collaborate with marketing and innovation teams to amplify thought leadership through content marketing vehicles, events, webinars, and media opportunities.
· Scaling Futurism & Best Practices:
o Guide and mentor innovation officers and colleagues in futurism and scenario planning methodologies.
o Contribute to the development of internal frameworks and methodologies for research, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
o Help scale the Innovation Office’s ability to dream big and help them help our customers understand trends, explore business transformation opportunities, and innovate proactively.
o Empower account and customer-facing teams to help customers lead AI-first business transformation on the platform.
Qualifications· Proven expertise in futures research, strategic foresight, scenario planning, and market analysis.
· A related body of published research, thought leadership, or industry reports on technology and business transformation.
· Experience working with C-level executives and technology leaders.
· Ability to synthesize complex technology and business trends into clear, actionable insights.
· Exceptional writing, storytelling, and communication skills—able to create compelling research reports and present findings persuasively.
· Strong grasp of AI, automation, emerging technologies, and their impact on business strategy (technical depth is a plus, but this is not a technologist role).
· A background in enterprise software, consulting, research firms, think tanks, or corporate innovation roles is preferred.
· Experience conducting primary and secondary research, including executive interviews and market trend analysis.
· Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic, highly strategic environments with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in or with leading analyst firms (e.g., Forrester, Gartner, IDC), corporate futurism roles, or technology research organizations.
· Familiarity with business transformation methodologies, digital strategy, and AI-first innovation frameworks.
· Experience presenting at industry events, leading workshops, or publishing in major industry publications.
· A passion for challenging conventional thinking and shaping the future of business and technology.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $180,900 - $316,600, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
