Overview: 


Clearwater Analytics is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Insights Researcher to join our team. This position bridges the gap between financial expertise, data analytics, and research to craft actionable insights that guide investment decisions. The ideal candidate will combine their deep knowledge of financial markets and instruments with advanced data modeling and analysis skills to develop impactful insights and innovative strategies. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Research and Insight Development: 

Conduct rigorous research to generate insights into investment strategies, portfolio construction, and risk management. 

Develop, backtest, and implement quantitative models and frameworks by analyzing proprietary and market datasets. 

Collaborate with product teams to design diagnostic tools and investment solutions based on research findings. 

Stay updated on macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and financial innovations to inform research projects and insights. 

Client-Centric Insights: 

Partner with clients to co-create analytics and research tailored to their unique investment goals. 

Translate complex research findings into clear and actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders. 

Develop and deliver presentations to clients, showcasing actionable insights that align with their business objectives. 

Data Storytelling and Visualization: 

Craft compelling narratives that transform complex data insights into visually engaging stories. 

Use data visualization tools to clarify and emphasize key findings, ensuring insights resonate with stakeholders and clients. 

Promote data-driven insights through marketing channels to inspire clients and colleagues alike. 

Data Analysis and Modeling: 

Apply advanced statistical methods, econometric modeling, and machine learning techniques to analyze large financial datasets. 

Build risk and scenario analysis frameworks to support investment decision-making. 

Continuously enhance existing models and tools to improve accuracy and applicability. 

Thought Leadership: 

Publish research notes, whitepapers, and industry thought pieces on emerging trends and actionable insights. 

Represent Clearwater Analytics at industry conferences and client workshops, sharing expertise and promoting the organization’s brand. 

Act as an advocate for data-driven decision-making within the company and across client organizations. 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

Work closely with internal teams, including product managers, data scientists, and client success managers, to align research initiatives with business priorities. 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field. 

Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research, quantitative analysis, or a similar role. 

Strong understanding of financial instruments, asset classes (including alternatives), and investment strategies. 

Demonstrated expertise in statistical programming and modeling using Python, R, or similar languages. 

Experience with econometrics, risk modeling, back-testing, and simulation techniques. 

Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and clear recommendations. 

Strong data storytelling skills, with the ability to create narratives that engage both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Strong communication and presentation skills, with a track record of articulating research findings to diverse audiences. 

Experience working with large datasets and deploying data science techniques to solve complex problems. 

Familiarity with SQL and database management for financial data analysis is a plus.

Salary Range DOE: 156,400 - 243,136 USD

Salary Range

$179,400.00 - $243,136.45

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, benefits include: health/vision/dental insurance, 401(k), PTO, parental leave, and medical leave, STD/LTD insurance benefits.
