Insights Software Engineer
The Red Hat Insights Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will use your software development expertise to contribute to Security and Operations services on console.redhat.com. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a distributed engineering team to ensure Red Hat solutions reach customers in a timely fashion with excellent quality. Prior exposure to container-based application development at scale is a plus. Primary Job Responsibilities + Design, implement and deliver new features, including coordinating contributions with other developers in the team + Technical project contribution by fixing defects, reviewing pull requests, and writing unit / integration test cases + Collaborate with a globally distributed development team, including mentoring junior developers + Demo the developed features with all stakeholders Required Skills + Degree in computer science or equivalent experience + 2+ years of object-oriented software development experience + Ability to work ONSITE in Raleigh NC + Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English + Solid programming experience with one of these languages: Python (preferred), Go + Experience working in open source software development + Experience developing and interacting with REST APIs + Experience utilizing message queues such as Kafka for large data processing flows + Experience working with relational databases like Postgres + Designing solutions on servers running on Linux + Experience working effectively in a cross-functional environment The following are considered a plus: + Experience with Openshift / Kubernetes + Experience developing with Git in a Linux environment + Experience developing in Javascript + Experience with CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions + Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Fedora + Experience collaborating with remote colleagues + Red Hat certifications The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. **Pay Transparency** Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
