InSite Chemist (FLOATER) - Haz Waste Tech
Floating Insite Chemist (haz waste technician) based out of the Camarillo or Valley area to help assist at our Insite programs.  Territory spans from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles. Santa Barbara- X2 a week. Valley, Camarillo. Emergency calls out of state (rare but occasional)  Schedule comes out every week depending on customer needs.   Inspections, prepping shipments, labeling, packing haz waste on customer sites.  Start time 5-7AM, have to be OK w/ night shift, but average 6AM-2:30PM.    $22-$26 DOE.  40 HR hazwoper preferred.    Responsibilities for Internal Candidates    

Essential Functions/Responsibilities


  Tasks
  • Make waste pickups at labs as needed.  • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. • Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance. • Inspect storage area for leaks or spills.  • Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.  • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.  • Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing.  • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.  • Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program.  • Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal.  • Maintain and manage waste profile data. • Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options.
