**Essential Functions/Responsibilities** • Make waste pickups at labs as needed. • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. • Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures • Inspect storage area for leaks or spills. • Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations. • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance. • Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing. • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork. Some coursework or college degree in chemistry, biology or environmental sciences • Requires lifting, carrying, grasping, speaking and listening. • Requires sitting, standing, walking, puling and/or pushing, stooping and crouching. • Requires climbing, determining color and smelling.
