THE ROLE

Insomniac is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Product Developer within our festival division to join the team. The Product Developer will be responsible for developing materials and trims, building and maintaining accurate BOM’s, maintaining costs in accordance with financial objectives, communicating adjustments and corrections to international and domestic vendors, suppliers, overseeing sampling, resolving any issues that may arise, and providing insight and feedback to the team. This position reports to the VP of Consumer Products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop products and review prototypes for quality, brand aesthetic and design intent that meets minimum order quantities and follows line planLead negotiations with international and domestic and local factories and vendors through product lifecycle i.e., costing, time and action, minimums, etc.Meet product development milestones and deadlines with pre-production tracking and reportingProvide costing rollups for brand or classification at final costAnalyze and leverage company reports to review business, category needs and trendsPartner with Creative Director to refine seasonal concepts, color pallets and materialsCreate technical packages and specificsManage the approval process of all items in developmentCreate cost sheets for all inventoried itemsMaintain timelines and WIP reports throughout all phases of development and production, both for vendors and in-house management

QUALIFICATIONS

7-9 years+ experience in product development, design or production in garment manufacturingKnowledge of raw materials and garment constructionExperience working and communicating with domestic and international manufacturersProven ability to provide leadership, supervision and direction to peers through development processAbility to demonstrate capabilities through a costing exerciseFamiliarity with a product lifecycle management systemProficient in Microsoft OfficeStrong communications skills both verbal and written and must be able to actively and attentively listenProven ability to network effectively 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environmentsMay work in drastic temperature climatesMust be willing travel to work events during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines

Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD
