POSITION DUTIES + Supervises and directs the work of all DOMI Code Enforcement inspectors. Manages daily operations of the code enforcement team by prioritizing inspections, and making assignments. + Reviews and approves inspection notices, work write-ups, and violation notices. + Prepares written materials, notices, or inspection reports as needed to resolve code enforcement issues. + Inspects and oversees inspection of right-of-way obstructions and violations to ensure compliance with applicable Codes, Ordinances and procedures. + Assists in the development of standard operating procedures to guide the work of the code enforcement team. + Supervises assigned personnel; evaluates work; recommends and implements approved disciplinary and/or corrective action; provides training and/or technical assistance as requested or required. + Answers complaints and questions concerning job-related matters by telephone, in writing and/or email. + Meets with City residents, individually or in groups, to apprise them of relevant government programs, violations and necessary corrections, etc. + Maintains relevant records on inspections; reviews daily reports, and provides daily reports to supervisor for preparation of monthly and annual inspections and abatement reports. + Makes court appearances on behalf of the City when assigned or required. + Assists City emergency response as the department's 24-hour emergency on-call representative as needed. + Plans, develops, directs, coordinates, organizes and controls the materials, equipment, and personnel, under jurisdiction toward the effective, efficient and economical attainment of program goals, including maximum convenience to the public and safety of employees. + Manages area of responsibility in strict accordance with applicable laws, regulations and established policy including union agreements to ensure fair and standardized treatment of employees. + Works evenings, weekends and holidays as required. + Performs activities and functions of related personnel and other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
