THE WORK
The QAR Supervisor is responsible for all quality inspection functions including: receiving, in-process, NDT, final and return to service to include supervision of hourly Inspectors.
Job duties include:
• Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
• Working knowledge of DCMA quality requirements.
• Directly supervise the inspection, testing and control of in-process and finished goods to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, OEM and customer contract requirements.
• Assist in development and management of budget, staffing, training, development, managing business/operations results.
• Assign work to employees in accordance with customer requirements, schedules, qualifications, skills matrix, etc.
• Lead daily meetings with employees to flow down company objectives and to communicate the status of the business to the work force.
• Promote ethics-based business culture in the organization.
• Encourage employee involvement and recognize employee suggestions and ideas to improve quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Candidate must be able to work in a customer focused environment, maintaining effective communication with internal/external customers including DCMA and FAA.
• Position requires coordination with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement on product quality issues and effective issue resolution.
• Ensures employees follow proper work methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, safety rules and quality and quantity standards.
• Audit employees’ labor charging and timesheets for accuracy and approve in accordance with the company’s labor reporting and time and attendance procedure.
• Manage employee performance and development and drive accountability through performance review process, disciplinary actions, coaching, training needs assessment, etc.
• Apply and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce the cost of poor business quality (COPBQ), drive customer satisfaction, improve efficiency and promote a quality culture and actively participate in Corrective Action Board and High Visibility (Hi-Vis) escape management activities.
• Monitors periodic freezer checks, bond room compliance.
• Lead the metrology/calibration program.
• Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Perform other duties as directed by the site quality manager.
• Candidate must successfully complete FAA drug and alcohol screening test and have no violations of FAA agency regulations documented in the records of drug and alcohol testing carried out by previous employers during the previous two years. This position is a safety sensitive position covered under FAA, subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screening program. This includes being tested for Marijuana, Cocaine, PCP, Opiates & Amphetamines or a metabolite of these drugs.

Basic Qualifications:
• Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Must have 5 - 7 years related experience with demonstrated ability to effectively manage 10-20 employees, preferably in aerospace industry.
• Must have A&P certification or be eligible to obtain FAA ( Federal Aviation Authorization) Repairman’s Certificate
• Must have knowledge of industry regulations & specifications including Federal Aviation Administration regulations (14 CFR Part 43, 65 & 145) and EASA Part 145 standards, and AS9100.
• Must have knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
Desired Skills:
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to drive performance culture and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate with different levels of organization.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications and engineering drawings.
• Ability to understand procedures, work instructions and specifications and apply this knowledge in day to day activities.
• Knowledge of composite processes.
• Strong time management and project management skills with ability to shift focus and priority based on business needs.
• Prior military or commercial experience in rotary wing aircraft maintenance.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement actions through use of lean tools and principles (i.e., VSM, Kaizen, RRCA, DIVE, Mistake Proofing, 5S/6S, etc.).
• Hands on experience using standard inspection equipment - micrometers, calipers, height gauges, scales, indicators, CMM, etc.
• Strong computer skills working with MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• ASQ certification desired.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
