Inspector 1

The Floor Inspector is responsible for inspecting workpieces and assemblies at assembly, inspection, or machine station to ensure conformance to specifications.

 

This is a 1st shift position hours are 6am to 2pm. Hourly pay rate is $21/hr.

 

Primary Functions

Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions Measures dimensions such as length, height, and distance, between reference points to ensure product meets specifications Reports findings to the Foreman or Inspection Supervisor, Quality Assurance Inspects first run parts Sets-up and tries out inspection equipment to ensure accuracy Tests hardness of workpiece surface Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Mathematically inclined Good computers skills with the ability to work with shop-floor systems Able to read and interpret blueprints  Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Work Environment and Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving parts.

Portions of the shop floor can be hot (with temperature > 100˚F in annealing department) and this individual is expected to be on the shop floor for all of the shift.

The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.

 

Must be able and comfortable to work in a heavy-industrial environment Must be able to walk to work locations 100% of the time Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel and reach below/above shoulders to access equipment for repair Must be able to lift tools, parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted
