Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for accomplishing specific critical points of the in-process and final inspection of articles, and ensures all work meets customer, regulatory authority, and company goals and requirements.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.    Ensures all required inspections are accomplished and properly documented, and all articles are properly tagged prior to shipment.
2.    Ensures they are adequately trained and proficient in all inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used to accomplish inspection of articles.  
3.    Follows priorities and work schedules established for inspection personnel to meet established repair station goals.
4.    Ensures they are knowledgeable with the applicable CFRs and regulatory information related to the inspection of articles. 
5.    Ensures all inspections are properly performed and documented, all records are properly executed, and inspections are fully compliant with all FAA, EASA, and other regulating authority and/or customer requirements. 
6.    Understands the applicable current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures of the article being inspected.
7.    Ensures all technical information used to accomplish the inspection of articles is current.
8.    Ensures all inspection tools and equipment are in proper working order, and properly calibrated during inspection of articles. 
9.    Ensures that no defective or unairworthy parts are installed in any article released by the repair station.  
10.    Reference the Repair Station and Quality Manual for additional duties, responsibilities, and authority.  
11.    Assumes responsibility for Return to Service activities, checking all paperwork for accuracy, content, and adherence to applicable regulatory and customer requirements, and then creating and signing the appropriate airworthiness certificates.  

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work may require lifting, pulling and carrying up to forty (40) pounds; frequent bending, climbing stairs, and reaching; sitting for up to twelve (12) hours per day; standing up to twelve (12) hours per day.  This position requires acceptable vision with corrective lenses, legible handwriting.  

MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:  High School and/or technical school graduate.  

Must be thoroughly familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation articles.   Must have an ability to apply geometry, trigonometry, and calculus skills to solve inspection problems.  Must be certificated under CFR Part 65, and have comprehensive knowledge of all applicable CFRs.  

MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Five (5) years in a FAA Part 145 Repair Station.  
 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
1.    Language (Read, Write and understand English)

2.    Arithmetic (Perform basic arithmetic, such as add, subtract, multiply, divide)    

3.    Color recognition (Recognize and distinguish yellow, red, and blue tags)

4.    Computer (Perform basic data entry, and open and save files)

5.    Vocabulary (Understand basic terminology used in the job functional area)
