Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties for this position will require the experience and knowledge of performing NYSDOT Highway Bridge Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) duties including construction inspection, and the understanding construction project administration methods and processes.

This person will perform field inspection, material testing, and documentation along with other tasks.

This individual must have the ability to read and interpret and enforce construction plans, specifications, and other contract documents, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.

Work will be primarily be in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Dutchess County.

Preferred Qualifications

NY State Thruway Authority or NY State Department of Transportation experience a plus.A current NICET Highway / Bridge Construction Certification, Level II (or NICET II equivalent) is preferred.Technical school or Associate degreeRelevant Industry CertificationsAbility to interpret construction schedulesLocal candidates preferredRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamThis position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testingAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
