Perform advanced hardware, functional and complex network testing of Ribbon products on customer sites. Transforms a group of network elements into a validated and integrated network that delivers the intended functionality that is ready to carry traffic. Tasks include performing physical installation, commissioning, integration and acceptance activities per Ribbon guidelines and include troubleshooting alarms and translations; troubleshooting other network elements; make non-traffic affecting changes in the database; performing Call Processing/Services and Feature Testing. All tasks are performed with a broad knowledge and experience with OAM platform along with an advanced understanding to execute new technology and methods.
The primary responsibilities are as follows:
Inventory of all job-related material.West Coast position all the work for the next 3 years will be located on customer sites from Los Angeles up to Sacramento.Reads and interprets Engineering specs, prints, and drawings.Demonstrates proper use of power and hand tools.Physical lifting of a minimum of 50 pounds is required.Required to climb ladders.Is required to travel away from home for several weeks with very little advance notice.'Evening' or 'Night' shift work required upon demand, often with very little advance warning.Conducts work assignments, communicates, addresses, and assists customers in a professional manner. Reads and stays current on installation documentation.Perform integration and acceptance activities per Ribbon guidelines.Perform other tasks and assignments as requiredAbility to troubleshoot alarms and network issues.Ability to make non-traffic affecting changes with minimal support.Understands interconnectivity of all network elements.Ability to perform Call Processing/Services and Feature Testing.Understands and applies constant vigilance to following Ribbon Installation Methods and/or NTPs.Never puts customer service at risk by deviating from customer or Ribbon methods.Understands and applies constant vigilance to established Ribbon and customer safety practices.Travel:
High mobility and flexibility are required as projects are completed across North America.Travel for deployment can consistently be as high as 100%. Will be required to work off normal business hours.Qualifications:
High School plus Telecommunications or Technical discipline work experienceTelecommunications willing to learn and growSelf-motivated individuals can learn quickly.Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.Candidates must be driven to achieve results while maintaining deadlines.Unix/Linux/Solaris knowledge and skills.Excellent organizational skills.Performs all physical and mechanical installation activities. - RequiredPM ShiftUS Citizen - RequiredPlease Note:
