The Military Division - Massachusetts National Guard is seeking a professional for the role of Installation Security Officer at Otis ANG. The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for preforming a full range of armed security patrol duties. This integral role will ensure that individuals requesting access to the installation have the proper identification and credentials for entry and ensures the safety needs of the Military Division are met.
The ideal candidate will have experience in security with a clear understanding of security/ law enforcement officer procedures, with the ability to perform independently.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive)
· Dispatches Security Forces units to scenes of incidents.
· Responds to alarms and conduct random checks of the area.
· Maintains records and prepares reports the activities over the course of the shift.
· Transmits messages to officers on patrol.
· Detects threats to restricted areas, by detaining and apprehending violators.
· Participates in training exercises to increase proficiency and keep skills and knowledge current.
· Issues temporary passes to visitors.
· Conducts random vehicle searches.

Desired Essential Skills and Qualifications
· Previous experience as armed security
· Knowledge of the rights of detained individuals and rules regarding appropriate use of force.
· Knowledge of tactics and procedures necessary for the preparation and response to catastrophic events, enemy attacks, and other related threats to instillations.
· Knowledge of methods and procedures used to enforce specialized personnel access controls to prevent unauthorized access.
· Must pass the initial preemployment medical exam.
· Must pass a preemployment physical agility test.
· Must be willing to obtain initial and annual firearms qualification to carry weapons required for armed security.
· Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Must have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance within your probationary period.
