**Job Title: Installation Technician - Travel**
**Vista, CA**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Installation Technician to install and commission Mid-Energy Portals (MEP) and Low Energy Portals (LEP), IP6500 Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS), and Exploranium Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) systems. This role involves isolating equipment start-up malfunctions, performing a variety of technical support tasks, and working on equipment that may lack documentation or training.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install and commission Mid-Energy Portals (MEP) and Low Energy Portals (LEP), IP6500 Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS), and Exploranium Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) systems.
+ Isolate equipment start-up malfunctions and take corrective actions.
+ Perform technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or factory locations.
+ Work on equipment that has little or no documentation or training.
+ Meet weekly project installation goals within required deadlines.
+ Support Engineering activities during Factory Acceptance testing.
+ Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
+ Work collaboratively with team members to ensure successful installation of equipment and systems.
+ Maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
+ Perform ad-hoc and predetermined work assignments as instructed.
+ Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
+ Multi-task, work accurately, and pay attention to detail in a Field Service environment.
+ Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, system manuals, and technical directives for troubleshooting purposes.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of relatable experience
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a wiring diagram/schematic
+ Ability to read and follow assembly documents
+ Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
+ Working knowledge of Windows application/software navigation
+ Must be able to obtain a US Passport to support OCONUS travel
+ Willingness to work on challenging international projects for short durations
+ Ability to work well with peers from various backgrounds to build effective work relationships
+ Must be able to work outdoors and in all types of weather conditions
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs
+ Working knowledge of x-ray and/or CT technologies
+ Network installation and configuration experience is a plus
+ PLC experience is a plus
+ Previous field electrical assembly experience
+ Certified forklift and aerial lift operator
+ Experience with rigging and material handling
+ Basic understanding of OSHA standards and practices
+ Software integration with electric/mechanical equipment
+ Previous hands-on project management experience is a plus
+ Bilingual language skills (Spanish) are a plus

**Work Environment**
Work can be based out of the Vista location assisting in day-to-day system assembly to gain knowledge. When in the field, work can take place at border crossings and ports of entry in the US or internationally, primarily in Texas. Candidates should be prepared to travel 75% of the time. Workdays may vary. If not in the field, it will be standard Monday - Friday, 1st shift. When in the field, the hours/days will be dictated by the project. Flexibility is key. Overtime should be expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, California
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
