Institutional Events and Alumni & Donor Engagement Specialist
Statement of the job: The Institutional Events and Alumni & Donor Engagement Specialist will coordinate the planning and execution of experiential institutional events such as Commencement, Convocation, anniversary celebrations, and special university events to inspire increased engagement with UMA alumni, donors, and community members and to increase UMA’s visibility. This position also directly supports and contributes to the growth of an emerging alumni relations and advancement program by collaborating with and reporting to the Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Relations to identify and implement new strategies and tactics for engaging alumni and raising philanthropic funds to support UMA’s mission. Qualifications Required: + Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., communications, marketing, event management, or business) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in planning and producing both small- (5-50 person) and large-scale (500 person+) institutional and/or fundraising events with multiple stakeholders, including contractor and vendor negotiations, budget development, and project management. + Experience in managing budgets and event metrics. + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for event-related travel. Preferred: + Experience in higher education advancement, alumni relations, or nonprofit donor engagement. + Familiarity with CRM software like Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or related tools. + Strong digital content creation and social media marketing experience. Salary: The normal hiring salary range for this position is in the mid 50s - mid 60s and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion.
