About the department:

ING’s Financial Markets division offers hedging, investment products, and securities financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division.  The Institutional Sales team within Financial Markets specializes in marketing investment products and risk management solutions to institutional clients in the financials vertical including Asset Managers, Insurance companies, hedge funds, banks and sponsors.  

About the position:

ING is looking for an experienced salesperson to join our Institutional Sales team in New York. The new hire would expand our financing solutions and securities finance team. Product focus would include equity total return swaps, equity financing, securities lending, fixed income repo, equity repo and structured funding solutions.

Responsibilities:

Execution and Marketing of equity total return swaps, fixed income repo and structured funding transactions.Provide proactive coverage and development of an institutional client portfolio including; hedge funds, asset managers, pensions, insurance and central banks for global markets in partnership with other members of the sales & trading team.Proactive coverage will include monitoring of market developments, identifying commercial opportunities, preparing trade ideas and pitches, and delivery of content to customers.Coordinate internal pre-trade preparation to ensure legal, compliance, risk, and operational elements are met, including the negotiation and execution of relevant documentation.Execute client transactions in partnership with traders and provide post-trade client and operational support where needed.Close cooperation with Trading, Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Legal, Operations and Compliance.

Qualifications and Competencies

Requirements:

5+ years of sales desk experience in marketing and executing cash and derivative transactions; experience with multiple products preferred.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with preference for Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or closely related fields.Must currently hold relevant securities licenses (7,63, SIE).

Competencies:

Genuine team player with excellent sales and relationship management skillsSolid technical understanding of various financing products: equity derivatives (TRS), fixed income repo, securities lending, along with other bespoke structured financing solutionsAbility to analyze market trends and developments for investment and risk management opportunities; ability to independently assess client needs and convert opportunities into executable financing solutionsExperience in working with relationship managers & global colleagues in a collaborative and result-driven environment.Familiarity with credit and legal aspects of securities lending, repo, derivatives, including MSLA, MRA, ISDA documentation and Dodd-Frank requirements.

Salary range: $230K - $250K
