This is a three (3) year, non-tenure track, faculty appointment with the potential of renewal based on annual evaluations. Regular attendance on-campus is not required but candidate is expected to attend the annual faculty assembly meeting in person and one commencement ceremony. All other college meetings can be attended virtually. Primary duties will include teaching online graduate courses, advising students, as well as providing service to the department, College, University, community, and profession. This position involves teaching online courses and remotely supervising School Counseling candidates. Teaching load will be 5-5. Duties also include administrative work linked to the School Counseling practicum.
The mission of the College of Education is to prepare highly effective, culturally competent professionals who are equipped to understand and assume leadership positions in a global society. Many of the College’s faculty engage students in research related to the border region and beyond.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold an earned doctoral degree in School Counseling or related fields. ABDs will be considered but degree must be conferred before start date of employment. Candidates must also hold or be eligible to hold current teaching and School Counseling certification in Texas. Experience with online course development and teaching is also required. We strongly encourage candidates with expertise in and commitment to supporting School Counseling candidates during their practicum.
