Job Title Instructional Associate - Public Safety Training Center (Fire/Rescue Training) Posting Number F006384 Position Status Full Time Assignment Length Not Applicable Grant Funded No Category Instructional Support Class Code 51 Starting Pay $43,888 Special Note Location Northwest Department NW Public Service & Sociology/Behavioral Science Job Summary Reporting to the assigned campus leader, the Instructional Associate is responsible for performing instructional tasks in a laboratory setting and assisting students through tutoring and teaching. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements* Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts Maintains and checks out to students, equipment used for field production Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids and materials Maintains software on lab computers and liaises with Academic Computing for lab workstations Provides secretarial duties for program bids and purchase orders, program recordkeeping for files and advisory committee minutes Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts Researches equipment for purchases Delegates work duties to work-study student assistants Previews, orders, and maintains inventories of equipment, instructional materials and supplies Plans, prepares, develops, and maintains various teaching aids or materials


Service Excellence Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the assigned campus leader

Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with courses in the specialized field and two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience Preferred Qualifications At least one (1) year’s working experience with AdAstra At least one (1) year’s working experience in Section Building/Section Maintenance At least one (1) year’s working experience with Dual Credit/High School academies At least one (1) year’s working experience with scheduling fire/rescue equipment and specialized training facilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of and familiarity with Fire/Rescue Advisory Committee Knowledge of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships including strong listening, verbal, and written communication Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
