Instructional Design Manager

Our Opportunity:  

Chewy is hiring an Instructional Design Manager to manage a team of Instructional Designers within Fulfillment Operations!  This role will support crafting and delivering learning solutions to drive consistency in learning content, implement appropriate technology solutions, and advance strategic priorities in learning that improve our FC operations. This role will provide leadership to a creative team charged with building and maintaining blended curricula coordinated into daily operations practices that optimize quality and productivity performance. 

 What You'll Do: 

Manage a team of Instructional Designers & editors and direct integration of their work with other departments’ needs. Build infrastructure and process methods to optimize the best learning solutions for business needs. Assure Instructional Designers stay aligned to daily operations needs and priorities and have access to the right subject matter experts in each process. Guide the development of new programs and maintain and improve current learning initiatives through the design process. Build and maintain mechanisms to supervise execution and ongoing improvement of learning programs and content. Develop designers and improve their skills in the instructions design process, assuring they maintain key skills and understanding of current industry tools and technologies. Collaborate with external support teams including, but not limited to ARO, Quality, Engineering, and Systems identify and implement business solutions and process changes. Collaborate with internal Learning Operations, Chewy Leadership Academy, and Strategic Process Integration Teams to amplify best performance outcomes, engage with content for daily learning, and enhance our team member experience. Drive a strategy to optimize various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training, soft skills practical training, skilled-trades training, VR/AR, video, blended, etc.) 

 What You'll Need: 

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, Information Technologies Demonstrated ability to lead a creative design team 5+ years validated experience leading teams and/or as a Program Manager, Training Manager, or similar Expertise in project management methods and tools Validated solid understanding of adult learning methodologies and ability to build practical, applicable, and results-driven learning infrastructure Ability to work with cross-functional teams to implement new processes & technology for training applications Ability to lead short-term and long-term projects and deadlines Demonstrated experience in learning systems integration. Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS) Proficient in current Learning Design software (Articulate, Vyond, Illustrator, Etc.) Strong understanding of LMS content integration Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment Able to travel (minimal
