Instructional Design Specialist (Supporting NOAA)

Data Networks, Inc., a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to support a federal government client located in Silver Spring, MD.

 

This posting is in anticipation of a favorable award of a Task Order to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS).

 

Key Role:

The Instructional Design Specialist will support Data Networks, Inc.’s NOAA client at NOS Headquarters, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO). The successful candidate will join a team of federal employees and contractors within the Workforce Management, Diversity, and Inclusion Division (WMDID) to assist the government in instructional design and curriculum development activities for the NOS organization.

 

This is a hybrid position which requires some in-office presence at the client’s site in Silver Spring, MD.

 

The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

Develop and design courses and curriculum consistent with adult learning theory for delivery in online learning, hybrid courses, and face-to-face courses. Design and develop engaging, interactive, and instructionally sound materials that address various learning styles and are accessible to all NOS students. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop course content for NOS employees. Design learning activities, assignments, and assessments. Create computer-based training modules and storyboards. Develop instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools. Analyze, update, and refine existing online content. Train and instruct in how to use learning technologies and work with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users. Write scripts for video and audio content. Utilize current best practices in instructional design.
