We are currently looking for an Instructional Designer to join our training team in Bloomfield Hills, MI!

The Instructional Designer supports the HR Director, Talent and Learning in developing and overseeing the Learning and Development team’s strategic vision. The Instructional Designer plays a key role in designing, developing, and implementing effective learning solutions that support our team members our organizational goals. They will work cross functionally to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.

 

What are the responsibilities of the Instructional Designer?

Create learning programs in line with the company’s business objectives and mission, vison, and values. Design and develop courses, customize training materials, and curate resources. Build learner experiences based upon sound instructional design practices that yield the intended outcomes. Develop a blended approach to learning that employs various modalities (in-person, virtual, e-learning, performance support, documentation, etc.). Manage and implement content from third party providers. Partner with department stakeholders to organize, consolidate, identify gaps, and create training content. Manage and maintain content within the learning management system. Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality training solutions. Facilitate sessions and provide training support when needed. Manage compliance training and communications. Audits courses and learning plans. Evaluate learner feedback with the HR Director, Talent and Learning to measure the overall effectiveness of learning solutions and make continuous improvements to the materials. Provide ongoing assistance and support to team members.

 

What are the role requirements?

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or related field is required. Previous experience in instructional design, training, or learning and development is required. Minimum 5+ years of related experience is required. Previous experience in property management is preferred. Previous experience with a course development software/authoring tool (Yardi Aspire or related Learning Management System) required. Must be proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and other content design programs. Exceptional computer software and database skills; knowledge of SCORM and TinCan preferred. Familiarity with training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job, in-classroom, e-learning, workshops, simulations, videos, performance support, etc.). Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated. Interpersonal communication and problem-solving experience. Ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others. Must possess exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to balance and prioritize simultaneous projects and tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
