Contributions

As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive onboarding and training program in support of our Federal client. You will work as part of a cross-functional team—including designers and technical experts—engaging with stakeholders and end-users to develop an effective approach and ensure adoption of new systems and processes.

 

Responsibilities:

Outline and understand end users to create training appropriate to meet their diverse needsAnalyze existing training materials and business processes to identify learning gaps/needs and opportunities for improvementResearch appropriate learning content and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to structure learning paths Develop interactive and engaging training materials using a variety of modalities (videos, user guides, gamified learning, etc.) with learner theories in mind (ADDIE, Bloom’s, SAM, etc.) to create dynamic learning experiences Determine utilization of knowledge checks and compliance tracking Lead the training development and deliveryEstablish metrics and measure user adoption Facilitate learning management system administration, usage, and develop feedback loop for enhancement Consider long-term governance for sustaining training programs and materials  Qualifications Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance4+ years of experience in Education, Training, HR, or related fieldThorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implementKnowledge of contemporary learning management software platformsExperience with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniquesAbility to convey complex information in a way that people understandExperience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills  Familiarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skills  Experience working in a project-based environment  Proficiency in MS Office and in database softwareBachelor’s degree and 7+ total years of experience or equivalent experience in Training and Instructional Design and educationMust be able to travel across US (10%)

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
