The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for closely collaborating with Program Manager, Training and Heads of Training of respective college to partner with subject-matter experts in developing curricula and establishing training programs. The incumbent in this role champions the effort to create innovative education solutions using adult learning theory, thorough instructional design practices and current technologies to meet organizational goals. He/She must be able to demonstrate and utilize effective needs analysis, project management, course development, consultation, and evaluation skills.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Owns the design, development, rollout, and continuous improvement of training programs and courseware in line with company objectives and emerging business needs, including but not limited to:Role-based curricula.Course outlines, descriptions, and objectives.Course flyers, enrollment, and registration notifications.Training courseware (e-learning modules, virtual training, live classroom, and experiential).Facilitator guides/participant guides/instructions.Successful completion metrics.Evaluations (L1 and L2 as appropriate).Other materials as needed.Partners with Program Manager, Training, to conduct training needs analysis to resolve training objectives, instructional strategies, project scope. Ensures overall integrity of the learning design and content.Establishes positive relationships with business unit Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to maintain industry standards in content development. Incorporates feedback from SMEs, internal stakeholders, master facilitators, and training specialists.Develops relationships with stakeholders, business leaders, executives, and others to influence without authority and provide explicit guidance and feedback when in the best interest of learners and the organization.Creatively overcomes objections and builds consensus between clients or different parts of the business.Provides vision and leadership in the incorporation of instructional technology for online, hybrid, and classroom programs.Explores and employs budding technology and models for content development and instructional design.Distinguishes methods to promote collaborative learning environments and grow the organization’s learning presence.Leads project meetings, mitigates conflicts, problem-solves, and manages project plans according to department budgets and timelines.Maintains training program quality and integrity by:Supporting the development of and adhering to minimum standards of learning excellence.Providing coaching and mentoring to master trainers.Using and developing standard tools and templates.Incorporating elements of engagement and experiential learning appropriate to program objectives.Conducting training needs assessments where applicable.Generates products for and manages eLearning delivery platforms.Ensures alignment of training with our mission, values, and patient promise.Coordinates and delivers train-the-trainer delivery to master trainers and supports initial training rollouts to in-market resources.Manages aspects of the Learning Management System such as user records, pulling reports, loading, and testing courses.Coaches and mentors peer groups.Acts as a consultant with internal clients.Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

BA/BS degree in Adult Learning Theory, Training/Instructional Design, Communications, or related field required OR additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basisMaster’s or Doctorate degree in one of the above disciplines or a related field preferredA minimum of 7 years’ direct work experience developing e-learning, virtual classroom, and experiential learning courseware for technical and soft skills training in a corporate environment requiredPrior learning and development delivery experience preferredExperience conducting train-the-trainer sessions in a corporate environment desiredExperience as a team lead preferredExperience using project management tools such as BaseCamp, Wrike, Insightly, Microsoft Project, or similar strongly desiredCertified as an Associate Talent Development Professional (ATDP), Certified Talent Development Professional (CTDP), or similar certifications highly desiredWe’re ChenMed and we’re transforming healthcare for seniors and changing America’s healthcare for the better.
