Job Description

Designs and develops technical training curriculum for customers and/or employees in the operation of company products. This role will be pivotal in designing and developing engaging, effective, and scalable training content for internal teams and external customers. As a multimedia specialist, you will collaborate with the product team and subject matter experts to transform complex software concepts into accessible learning materials. This position is located in Troy, Michigan and you will report to our Senior Manager, Professional Services.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do: 

Instructional Design:

Analyze learning needs and design instructional strategies to meet those needs effectively.Develop course outlines, learning objectives, and assessments that align with business goals and adult learning principles.

Content Development:

Create engaging and effective eLearning modules, instructor-led training materials, and blended learning solutions.Collaborate with the product team and subject matter experts to develop technical training materials that simplify complex software concepts for diverse audiences.Manage the content development process, keeping track of production status, keeping stakeholders informed, and ensuring that dates are metDesign and develop user guides, job aids, and other supporting documentation.

Multimedia Development:

Produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, animations, graphics, and interactive simulations, to enhance learning experiences.Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and similar platforms to create dynamic training materials.Take our online training to the next level by researching and employing industry-best practices that create meaningful, engaging content that drives real learning.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Partner with internal teams, including product development, support, and marketing, to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date.Work closely with the LMS administrator to upload, manage, and track training materials.

Continuous Improvement:

Regularly review and update training content to ensure relevance and effectiveness.  Incorporate learner feedback and emerging trends to keep training programs innovative and effective.Stay informed about emerging instructional technologies and trends, incorporating them into the development process where appropriate.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all training materials meet company branding guidelines and maintain a consistent tone and style.Conduct testing and usability reviews to ensure training content delivers the desired outcomes.

The Essentials - You Will Have:  

Bachelor’s degree Ability to travel up to 5%Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

The Preferred - You Might Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Research desire, learn, and develop expertise with a changing toolset2+ years of experience in technical training, curriculum development, and training delivery.Excellent writing and verbal skills in English (at least C1) with proven success in live and virtual training delivery. Exceptional ability to translate deeply technical information into accessible, layman-friendly terms.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.Creativity and a strong desire to make training engaging and meaningful. Willingness to offer creating ideas and solutions. Experience with Plex ERP or MES platforms, or similar manufacturing software solutions.Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning development tools.Certification in instructional design or project management (e.g., CPTD, PMP).Knowledge of adult learning principles and innovative educational techniques.
