Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for effective analysis, design, development, and evaluation of training materials across the organization. Develops course structure and content for a range of delivery modes, including online e-learning, live instructor-led, and on-demand learning assets. Utilizes training authoring and multimedia tools and software, and leverages current and emerging best practices, including materials, methods, and techniques. Participates in and supports the business’ learning and multi-deliverable strategic initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Design and develop various types of learning programs and content for (e-learning, instructor-led, and on-demand learning assets) using adult learning methodology.
+ Participate in and contribute to the business’ multi-deliverable strategic initiatives including deliverables ownership, leading project steps and meetings, and assuring on-time delivery.
+ Work with subject matter experts to develop engaging content and effectively scoped learning solutions to address the need and desired outcomes.
+ Create test questions, activities, and exercises to measure trainee learning and confirm content validity.
+ Leverage in-depth needs analysis to identify and define learner and organizational needs, and identify performance gaps and changes in work processes, procedures, and technologies.
+ Act as project manager for implementation of learning solutions.
You Must Have
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ Minimum 2 years’ experience as an instructional designer.
+ Minimum 2 years’ experience and advanced proficiency using e-learning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
+ Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
+ Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
+ United States Citizenship.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
We Value
+ Bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, communications, or related field preferred.
+ 2 years of experience using graphics programs to create supporting graphics, photos, screen captures to illustrate learning points.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and manage instructional design projects.
+ Proficient use of Microsoft 365 Suite.
+ Experience in manufacturing or technical business.
+ Project management experience and excellent organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration communication/ listening skills to interpret client needs and drive results.
