Instructional Designer

Job Summary:
The Instructional Designer will assist in enhancing the Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives within the company. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective learning experiences for employees at various levels. The Instructional Designer will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to develop training programs that align with organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with subject matter experts to define clear learning objectives. Conduct needs analysis, evaluating existing training to identify gaps and opportunities. Develop concise and clear content for training programs using various methods (online, classroom, or blended) that suit the content and the audience. Develop interactive eLearning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms. Build efficient processes and templates to accelerate the creation of new training materials. Design training materials in accordance with adult learning theories and principles, ensuring content relevance and learner engagement. Leverage emerging technologies (e.g., VR, AR) to enhance learning outcomes. Maintain existing training programs, ensuring content is updated and relevant. Integrate learning technologies to support and enhance training initiatives. Evaluate and research training options and alternatives, ensuring the most effective solutions are implemented. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of training solutions. Ensure effective communication with partner teams and stakeholders.

Additional Functions:

Assist with special events related to L&D initiatives. Support organizational meetings, which may require air travel.

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with multimedia training platforms and methods. Experience with adult learning principles and theories. Proficiency in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM). Experience with SCORM and xAPI standards. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Prior experience with e-learning software. Working knowledge of commercial laundry operations is a plus. Proficiency with Bridge LMS is a plus. Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with learning analytics to assess the impact of training programs.

Work Schedule

Standard office hours with potential for hybrid/remote work.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Supervisor of Learning and Development.

Typical Physical Activity:

Physical Demands/Requirements: Sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs., standing, walking, writing, speaking, and hearing. Mental Demands: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Typical Environmental Conditions:

Indoors in a typical office environment (i.e., desks, file cabinets, and office equipment).

Travel Requirements:

May be invited to attend organizational meetings requiring air travel. Flexibility to travel (+/- 15%) as needed, including occasional overnight stays.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
