Summary
The Instructional Designer Manager (IDM) is a key member of the global training leadership team, responsible for driving the overarching strategy for global training design and managing the instructional design function in support of a complex, multi $100M account that provides physical security services to a global datacenter client across 30+ countries. This role directly supervises the Instructional Design team and the Training Program Coordinator, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on training creation and administration. The IDM is tasked with expanding the training program by developing a dynamic, comprehensive, and effective curriculum. This includes developing and maintaining the eLearning program, multimedia training, and curriculum using a variety of tools, adult learning strategies, and experiential learning opportunities for a diverse audience within the Datacenter Physical Security program.
Essential functions
Leadership and Supervision: Directly supervise the Instructional Design team and Training Program Coordinator.
Training Strategy: Drive the overarching strategy for global training design.
Program Development: Develop and maintain the eLearning program, multimedia training, and curriculum using a variety of tools, adult learning strategies, and experiential learning opportunities.
Collaboration: Work with other teams across the datacenter physical security account to recommend process improvements, implement global and regional initiatives, and standardize processes and procedures.
Content Creation: Create scenario-based eLearning, training videos, topic-specific training, and train-the-trainer materials to support a wide range of content areas and training formats.
Content Review: Support annual training content reviews, including updating content and redesigning training formats.
Measurement: Develop, deploy and manage a training measurement strategy, using data collected to enhance and evolve training curriculum.
Minimum hiring standards
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone.
Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
Fluent in written and spoken English
Must have a High School diploma or secondary education equivalent, or GED.
Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Education/experience
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of curriculum design/development experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
Certified Professional in Talent Development (CDPD) or similar
Knowledge and experience with eLearning strategies and development tools, such as Articulate Storyline, required; experience with other eLearning authoring tools, for example Lectora or Captivate, highly preferred
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Demonstrated expertise in training evaluation and measurement
Experience planning, designing, producing, and delivering education and training for in-person and virtual formats
Experience with video production and graphic design
Experience developing and deploying Train-the-Trainer strategies.
Experience designing onboarding curriculum
Experience with instruction design and technical writing
Knowledge of adult learning principles
Special requirements
May be required to travel (both domestically and internationally) up to 25% to provide real-time training or as part of content creation.
