** Salary ranges are based on minimum education and years of experience and may increase based on education and/or experience.

 

Overview: An Instructional Designer (Workstation) is needed to join a high-performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. We are using Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and test automation tools alongside a full suite of team collaboration tools. Program execution follows DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, test, and production environments. The program provides system engineering, development, test, integration, and operational support to a large, fast-paced program, and is infusing new technology and adding advanced capabilities while continuing to support an on-going mission and operational system.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities Collaborate with other ISDs/Training Developers to design and develop classroom and computer-based training/web-based training (CBT/WBT) learning solutions.Conduct competency-based platform training incorporating multiple instructional technologies and maintain operational workstations in the classroom.Consult with subject-matter experts to determine instructional requirements, analyze software systems, adapt engineering references, and implement training solutions.Collaborate with technical writers and web managers to prepare and deliver a variety of training products.Develop and manage Lesson Plans and WCI products.Plan, design, and deliver learning strategies based on a blended-learning approach.Instruct adult learners and manage up to 50 classroom workstations.Evaluate instructional programs, course content, and instructional methodologies.Analyze learning objectives against program requirements and coordinate data gathering and processing for various levels of evaluation and assessment.Develop job aides for users, subject matter experts, and instructors new to the targeted technology.Maintain CBT modules and human-machine interfaces. Required Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Curriculum Design, Human Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.Four (4) years of additional additional developer/trainer experience in implementing IT related training programs may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.At least 5+ years of experience in platform delivery design and development.Must have experience developing training products for technology-based systems, or have a solid propensity for technical subjects.Must have in-depth experience managing training projects and teaching hands-on technology courses.Must have experience with or in-depth familiarity with CBT/WBT and web development and management.Must have excellent interpersonal skills and must have experience working with technical staff.Must have a high level of proficiency with MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Must have strong writing and editing skills.Must have the ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing job aides for users and/or instructors on technologies that are new to them is strongly preferred.Experience developing technical publications such as requirements specifications, user manuals, technical manuals, training manuals, and other documents for end users.Experience using graphics applications and scripting languages including Photoshop, HTML, and JavaScript.System administration experience.Familiarity with Army Training development processes.
