Posting Summary Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Academic Technology Services.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Handle technical support functions for the various general purpose digital and synchronous learning classroom technology systems and assisting faculty with digital and synchronous learning classroom equipment operation; Provide support for specialized software/data and equipment installation, configuration, and planning by investigating and analyzing various specialized options and solutions; Research, gather, organize, and summarize data for reports; Analyze data for trends and presents results and recommendations to supervisor; Seek opportunities to integrate technology into academic activities; Collaborate with faculty on incorporating specialized software and methods; Plan, design, and conduct specialized end-user training for groups or individuals; Stay current in new developments and technologies; Conduct research on new technologies, as requested; Test specialized software or equipment; Select and recommend purchase of hardware and software for usage across RU-N; Assist in planning the implementation of new, specialized software releases, determine the impact of changes, recommends, and develops methods of facilitating end-user adjustment; Interact with internal and external vendors to establish and maintain supportive relations; Design and produce training aids, operation manuals, and other online support and equipment media; Perform other duties and completes special projects as assigned.
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
